This is a very simple recipe…… Basically, you use the saucepan to melt your butter and chocolate and you continue to use it as you mix in all the other ingredients. This slice has a firm but fudgy type brownie texture.
125g unsalted butter
90g dark cooking chocolate
90g milk cooking chocolate
1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
1 cup (150g) plain flour
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
125g white choc bits (half a packet)
Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Line a 19cm square cake tin with baking paper.
Combine butter with dark and milk chocolate in a medium saucepan, stir over heat until chocolate is melted. Allow to cool slightly for two minutes or so.
Stir in brown sugar, flour and eggs, mix well. Then add the white choc bits but only mix twice or three times. Pour mixture into prepared tin.
Bake slice for about 30 minutes. Cool in pan before removing slice to cut into fingers. Dust with icing sugar.
